Jersey City Public Schools Visit the Reservoir
Schools around the city are visiting Jersey City's Reservoir #3. Students can utilize this unique natural classroom for environmental studies, artistic inspiration, and mapping lessons. Contact the Project Reservoir team for more information.
Thank you to the 5th grade students from the Charles E. Trefurt School (P.S.#8) for their historic first visit to the Reservoir! Students from Nick Miceli's and Ronen Kauffman's class, along with teacher Maria O'Donnell explored the Reservoir on 11/16/11. Reservoir Alliance member, Vinny MacNamara assisted students in learning about the flora and fauna of the Reservoir through hands-on activities designed by Project Reservoir students and staff at the Chirsta McAuliffe School (P.S.#28).
Project Reservoir has accomplished one of its main objectives in having a school learn about the wonders of this "hidden treasure" through an approved, Jersey City Public School field trip! Thanks again, P.S.#8 staff and students! Project Reservoir hopes that you will continue to learn more about the Reservoir as you progress through middle school and high school. Be sure to spread the word about your experiences at the Reservoir! |
