"Micro" Aquaculture

Picture
We ordered 3 cultures of two different species of paramecium.  The reason for culturing paramecium is so our baby fathead minnows have a type of microorganism to eat, just as they would in their natural habitat.  In order to maintain optimal conditions, we sample the paramecium daily and examine the sample under a microscope to check for changes in population.
